A day at Cap Midia, Navodari

📆 2026-08-17 15:30

Yesterday was one of those simple family days that don't need much planning to become memorable.

We left home at 07:30, heading towards Cap Midia, near Navodari, for a day at the Black Sea. The drive took about 2 hours and 40 minutes, but once we arrived, the long road was quickly forgotten.

The plan was simple: beach, sea, sun, and some time together as a family.

No complicated itinerary. No rushing from one place to another. Just a day by the water.

And it was great.

Cap Midia gave us exactly what we were looking for - a day away from the usual routine, with the sea, the beach, and plenty of time to relax with the family.

We stayed until 17:30, then packed everything up and started the drive home.

The trip back wasn't quite as smooth as the journey there. Road works slowed us down considerably, turning the return trip into a three and a half hour drive.

We finally got home at around ~21:00.

Tired, but happy. It was a great day.

There was, however, one very important thing missing:

Cold beers at the Black Sea. 🍺

Not because I forgot to bring them. I was driving. And unfortunately, "having a cold beer at the beach" and "being responsible for getting the family home safely" don't exactly go together.

So while everyone else could enjoy the beach, I had to admire the cold beers from a safe distance.

A small sacrifice for a good day. The sacrifice won't be repeated. Next time, we have to rent a room. On the road back, I saw these awesome:

small cabins available for rent.

Will surely stay there for at least 1 night so I can also enjoy some cold ones on the beach at the Black Sea.
