🖋️ Why I still write on the Small Web in 2026

📆 2026-01-28 10:10

Gemini is not where most people are. That's part of the point. I write here because nothing competes with the text. No layout decisions. No images asking for attention. Just words, in order.

🧭 Audience

I don't know who reads this. I don't need to. There are no metrics to check. I could implement something to track pageviews and so on, but, I don't want to. No reason to optimize. If someone finds a post, it's because they were looking.

⚙️ Tooling

Publishing is a file write. Editing is opening it again. No theme. No dependencies that need updates. The barrier between thought and publication is small enough that I don't hesitate.

🧠 Focus

Gemini rewards clarity over volume. Short posts fit. Unfinished thoughts fit. I don't feel pressure to explain everything. Or to perform expertise. I can stop when the idea stops.

🕯️ Permanence

These posts don't age fast. They don't resurface unexpectedly. They wait. That makes writing feel calmer. More durable.

🌱 Conclusion

I still write on Gemini because it lets me write for myself, without pretending otherwise.

If someone else reads it, that's a bonus.
