Sometime in 1989-1990, a dear friend of mine gave me a photo of her taken by her aunt. The lighting in the photo was amazing - it was just beautiful. So, I drew it in charcoal. A couple of years later, I did an etching of the same image. 20 years after that, I revisited the piece in oil pastels, and then legos in 2023.
It wasn't my intention to continue revisiting this image, but something about the lines (or the light?) keeps me coming back. It's also interesting to see how my understanding of this image has changed over time.
