I had a nice start to the year, playing Parcheesi online with my best friend in the UK. It's wild to think that we've been friends for seventeen years. I hope that I'm able to visit again this year.
I'm going to do my best to not succumb to the abyss this year. I did not anticipate the massive internal civil war in the GOP, I certainly did not expect Marjorie Taylor Greene to flip on Donald Trump, and I absolutely did not expect Candace Owens to pour gasoline on the party. I know that they're both operating entirely out of self-interest as they know the MAGA movement is not long for this world, but I do appreciate the interfamily chaos. Being able to kayfabe this doddering old man is becoming increasingly difficult for Trump-Train influences and the release of the Epstein Files will be a steady drip, drip, drip of increasingly damning details. I don't believe we're through the worst of it. A cornered animal will do whatever it thinks will save its life. He's still got a core group of ride-or-die supporters who will stand behind him no matter what, they are armed to the teeth, and they are fiending for a Civil War. They want blood. But I feel more hopeful that there's light at the end of the tunnel than I have at any point in 2025. We're going to have to go through it to get through it.
