Alan's Gemini Capsule

Introduction

Goddamn, the world is so stupid at the moment. The internet used to be the escape from the worries of my world. Now it's the catalyst for most of those worries. Now we're moving toward a world where geriatric pedophile politicians are moving toward surveilling our every single move online. If it means going more niche with my online footprint, so be it.

I was a dial-up BBS user since 1984 until the mid 1990s. My first internet account was a text only terminal with a handful of features, with any graphics being ASCII, not too much different from Rabbit Friend up above. People building their own personal websites, I2P, the Fediverse, Gemini Capsules, and the rest of the Small Web Movement are giving restoring my faith that maybe not everything has been lost.

Interests

Some of my main interests include: film (foreign, independent, cult, B-movies), music (very broad tastes), books (offbeat fiction and non-fiction) creative writing and retro computing/gaming. I run a small record label, and I host a weekly music-based radio program.
