s/Japan was created.

Thanks to your voices, I have created a place where you can experience Japanese culture in English. Thank you all!

What kind of story do you want to tell?

Tokyo? Mt. fuji?

Kimono? Ninja? Japanese castles?

Akihabara? Manga (comic) and Anime?

Vocaloid such as Hatsune Miku?

Shrines and temples are also unique to Japan.

Unicode emojis are derived from Japanese mobile phones.

If necessary, it will be further divided to create new subspaces.

That's probably when Geminispace has more users.

Perhaps s/Vocaloid will be born later. But I care about s/emoji. 😁

What is Vocaloid? Like autotune?

🎈 balloon [OP/mod] · 11 hours ago:

Vocaloid is a soft fair that inputs lyrics and pitches and converts them into singing voices. Developed by Yamaha.

There is a voice actor who is the basis for this singing voice. However, the Vocaloid developers created a new character for it.

One of those characters is Hatsune Miku (初音ミク).

In Japan, the strategy was successful, resulting in songs and artists that had never existed before.

@balloon Thank you so much for creating the sub! I didn't participate in the poll because I wanted to follow your vision, so I was really excited to see how it would turn out.

Personally, I'm so happy to see Vocaloid mentioned in the header! I feel like it's still not as well-known as Manga or Anime, so it means a lot to me.

@tacomanator While it’s true that most songs are sung by humans, it’s exactly as balloon described. With the rise of Vocaloid, we’ve even seen songs "sung" by non-humans in Japan—for example, people even made tracks using Google Translate's voice to sing.

Maybe people do the same thing overseas with Google Translate, but I’m not familiar with the culture outside of Japan, so I’m sorry if you already knew that!
