Idea of a new item: Hazy Grenade: When the holder faints, everyone's stat stages are reset to zero.

How should you think that the type effectiveness of Bug and Fairy should be changed?

I can think of some reasons why you might deliberately attack your own pokemons in a double battle: It is a move that heals the target, such as Heal Pulse, or Pollen Puff (which only heals the target if it targets a ally). To impose a non-volatile status condition to prevent another non-volatile status condition. To impose a status condition which benefits the target in some way (e.g. due to Guts, Facade, Poison Heal). Because the target is trapped and you cannot affect the opponent quickly...

New move idea: Baton Smash: It is a damaging move, which has the effect of Baton Pass and then the newly active pokemon (or the same one if it cannot switch out for any reason) damages the target with Baton Smash, and then (whether or not any damage was actually caused, and whether or not the pokemon successfully switched out) it resets all effects that can be baton passed.

Public domain — One day Pokémon will enter public domain and it will be a glorious moment. Too bad we won’t be alive to see it, though…

A variant of Pokemon can be: Each player can, once per battle, take back the previous turn. This is a selection made during the selection phase; you must then select a command appropriate for the previous turn instead of this turn. After the selection phase, the entire game state is restored to the beginning of the previous turn except the random number generator and the opportunity to take back the previous turn. If the opponent did not also choose to take back the previous turn, their...

Every time I replay Pokemon Red, I forget about the level-16 Raticate gauntlet in Mt. Moon. Hyper Fang was a hell of a strong move in Generation I.

In generation I, a move with a recharge turn will not have a recharge turn if it knocks out the target or breaks a substitute. My idea is for modern rules and is a move that only needs a recharge turn if it knocks out the target or breaks a substitute, and otherwise doesn't (this is only one move, not all of them; most other moves that need recharge always do, whether or not they knock out the target).

I had seen a suggestion for a item that does additive to stats. I had similar idea of additive items before, but this one is one I had seen. It adds +floor(L/10)+1 (where L is holder's level) to Physical Attack, Special Attack, Physical Defense, Special Defense, Speed, and to the accuracy of moves. (This is a direct addition to the number, not stat stages. For accuracy, e.g. a normally 70% accuracy becomes 81% at level 100.) (This doesn't give as much bonus than other items do, but applies to...

Pokemon battle simulator in C — I intend to make a Pokemon battle simulator in C and would like to work multiple people together on it. I can set up a newsgroup on my NNTP server for the discussion of the project. Goals: It must be FOSS. Written in C, without any dependencies except some parts of the standard library. Made as a library that can be called by other programs. The library does not perform any I/O except by FILE objects given by the caller and by callback functions given by the...

Idea of pokemon moves/abilities/items — Ability [???]: Prevents selection and execution of add-on commands (mega-evolution, Z-moves, dynamax, terastal), for all pokemons including self. Does not prevent the execution of the originally selected move. For example, if you try to select Z-Protect then it will execute (non-Z) Protect instead (it will still protect from attacks but will not reset lowered stats), and if you try to dynamax and select Explosion so that it would be Max Strike instead,...
