Say No To Internet IDs (2024)

I'm really hating how accurate this illustration is slowly becoming, due to what's happening currently, I still hate that governments and corporations are actively trying to emotionally blackmail people for the sake of "protecting the kids" it's just an ugly excuse to get people's government ID's to go through a serious data breach for third parties and data brokers, the ones in power never cared about everyone else but themselves anyways, I'll protest against this online.

This drawing was made using Infinite Painter, on my iPad.

Thank you, and you're welcome.

Yup, everything is going to shit. Unfortunately most people don't care :'(

I'd love to have people dotting Raspberry Pi's all over the place with hidden SSIDs and having a covert sneaker net of sorts paired with offline first computing. Unfortunately as with the LoRa solutions I don't see there been a critical mass to make it viable in a lot of areas.

👻 darkghost · Mar 14 at 17:07:

The LoRa stuff is very low bandwidth. But say what you will about mass adoption, I'm about to climb on the roof to expand the network in my area.

🐐 drh3xx · Mar 14 at 17:42:

@darkghost please don't think I was slating LoRa I think it's great I just don't think it can be denied that in low uptake areas it is not really viable.

(or in high uptake areas due to limited bandwidth)

I'll give yggdrasil a try, I just need to read on how to set it up on an older laptop to have it run. I will have my newer laptop run Reticulum as well. I know Yggdrasil network and Reticulum are two different things.

I first heard of yggdrasil on either BBS or station and I have to admit I'm curious about it.

@drh3xx - I want to do that with the pi's, LoRa, and hidden SSID's. combining with solar panels and weatherproof shells might make deploying a fun kind of geocaching experience. we need guides for how to set it up. Are there guides out there?

🐐 drh3xx · Mar 15 at 08:24:

@Half_Elf_Monk it's not something I've done so I don't have a guide. It could do with some kind of group discussion to define the objectives and project standards. I agree about using some kind of weather proof solar enclosure. Anyone else interested?

I'm interested in also possibly using a Rasberry pi to self host my own websites, using yggdrasil server, but I'll think about it.

Say no to IDs means also Say no to IPs
