I'm not surre nex is complicated enough to have a real specification, but...
You send a path, get back a document or an error message. That's about it, I think.
and document is in gemtext format.

I think most nex pages use plain, pre-formatted text. It's just the links that look like Gemtext. That's my experience, anyway.
