I join in the condolences for the passing of your dog @skyjake. I have two, Kira is 11 years old, and Nacha is about 7 (rescued). No one can ever be prepared to say goodbye to such loyal and loving animals.
I hope Skyjake's dog rests peacefully, I've also lost two loving house cats in two seperate years, it's painful to fluffy friend.
My heart is with you.

You always know when you sign up for getting a pet that you might some day have to make hard decisions about them. It does not, however, prepare you for when that moment comes.
Very sorry to hear this. I had three that passed at 14. One at 17. Never gets easier.
