Will they not just listen to you about identifying obvious nonsense?
They don't see the harm. I've made my concerns known. But I pay for our internet access and bought all the equipment, so it may be their house, but it's MY network and they just use it.

I don't blame you for blocking YouTube tbh, I personally still avoid AI spam videos like the plague for obvious reasons.

idk. Not trying to take a side here, but fwiw, my experience is... my life, cognition, and mental health all improved when I voluntarily blocked yt. I really only need it for instructional "how to fix this thing" sorts of vids.

There's a whole parallel world out there that I couldn't have discovered if I was still spending time on yt. kinda weird to think about.

@Half_Elf_Monk I usually use it for music, instructions, background noise, and if I'm waiting for something a small bit of entertainment.

My parents have discovered AI slop on YouTube. YouTube is now blocked on our home network until further notice.
