Dark patterns suck. I went to return something to Amazon and the option to credit the same account you bought the item with is really small and easy to miss compared to the option to get Amazon credit.

last time i bought from amazon, it took about six months to get off prime. i don't know why. i kept hitting the button, then the next month my credit card bill comes and i'm charged for another month of amazon prime. eventually i "paused" instead of "canceled" and that seemed to take.
i knew i shouldn't have fallen for it. i canceled the free trial as soon as the purchase went through. i then went and changed the automatic renewel from yearly to monthly "just in case", and then hit the cancel button again because i was worried that changing the renewal period would sign me up again.
i bought from amazon because i was looking for an indie movie that had trouble getting distribution and amazon was the place they listed on the website.
