Starting fooling with Pleroma. It's interesting, and I am not sure yet on how to integrate it into my new found small web life, but the whole fediverse connectivity is fascinating! ActivityPub is a very cool tool!

Pleroma? Are you talking about Fediverse server?

Then, when people fled Twitter, one of the options was Mastodon, but the Mastodon server was very crowded due to the increase in the number of users. So I built a Pleroma server and entered the world of Fediverse.

Now my Fediverse main is on Misskey, but I have hardly posted.

I feel that everyone went back to Twitter, or x. At least all my Democrat friends slowly gave up, it seems.

I've never had an account there and have zero interest, so it's a bit of hearsay

i use very marginal software called socialhome to connect to both my activity pub contacts and diaspora protocol contacts.

diaspora is very cool too, and underappreciated.

also there's xmpp publishing/microblogging. alas usually clients don't support it.

imagine, i have installed my diaspora pod in 2012. we were having so much fun with it.

So Pleroma was a bit overkill. I actually designed a website, integrated WriteFreely, which gives me an ActivityPub presence and federates my blog posts. Way easier than implementing Pleroma into an actual website.

Pleroma is cool. Think it serves a different purpose to Mastodon. Lighter I think. Smaller and easier to self-host from what I've seen.

if you need a blog, though i prefer go in writefreely, just wordpress, that i dislike because of php, has an activity pub plugin and a pretty good one. it also shows comments that people leave under the post.
