@skyjake Why does blocking a person not block them from commenting on my own posts? It should definitely do that, imo.

Eh, I don't think so.

Just because you choose to ignore someone's opinions, it does not grant you the right to silence them, or make others ignore it. Fair is fair.

The "blocking" is implemented as private muting, affecting only the user who applied it. Currently it only has impact on visibility of posts and comments.

I suppose it would make sense to additionally make posts by the muter appear as locked to the target of the muting, at least in their userspace.

@stack you are not entitled to being heard, and you are not being silenced by not being able to talk in someone else's house. You can talk all you want on any other thread. Not being able to speak on my own threads isn't "silencing" you. This also isn't a public space, isn't a community-owned platform, isn't being funded by taxpayer dollars, and isn't decentralized or federated.

Frankly, I don't want you being able to harass me *or others* in my own space. You can do it in other people's spaces, but I'm not gonna let that happen in my own space.

If this is a public forum, then it doesn't make sense to actually silence participants whose opinions you don't share.

Otherwise, it is just an invitation to bully people for personal reasons and create a literal bubble.

If we are here to share ideas with the public, some tolerance is required. Otherwise, you can run a private server and be the master of your domain.

@clseibold, this is not your house.

I value your opinions, and am not sure why you are so upset with me.
