You're correct. The mass cancels out. It doesn't seem intuitive until you realize that more mass takes longer to heat and a larger mass exerts more pressure. Both of these factors scale in exact proportion to the mass of the gas. A small mass will heat faster but exert less pressure for every degree of heat. A large mass takes longer to heat but exerts more pressure per degree. The pressure increase speed is driven by the specific gas constants, the volume of the container, and the power of the heater.
