User services in systemd can be made to run at all times, even when not logged in, by enabling the "linger" feature via loginctl. More information here, for example:

Ah thank you, I didn't know this and can see this to be useful when I don't have system access.
But in the case of my little bubble I have full system access, so I could move from user to system configurations.
The sdf.org gemini server seems down again :(
Edit: After retrying it seems to work again. But it seems not to be very reliable.
