Response to all the warm comments
I appreciate all the warm comments! It's great to see a thriving community like this! I am so delighted to see this active and growing in the manner that it is. I was blown away by how many Gemini sites there are! While gopher seems to be a bit smaller , the Gemini space is quite active. I think this was the first reason that made me want to actually install a capsule. I found this place off of I2p actually and read about gopher and then discovered a whole article about the protocol.

I missed Gemini's first wave, but I've become very taken in by it. I like it a lot, I like its way of doing things and what it represents, by which I mean Gopherspace as an idea, not Gopher as it actually exists, which is within the gnarl of a much older computing paradigm. 'Creating a more human Web' is something that is simply not going to happen to the deepest satisfaction of that phrase, the Web is the Web, the krokodyl to cable tv's beer, it had a good run and will be effecitvely be around forever in some form. But the Web isn't the future anymore, and as much as I may enjoy it, Gopher isn't either.
