So I Read the Netnews Specs — Two things in the internet world have always fascinated me: newsgroups and mailinglists. I didn't grow up in the BBS world of the 1990s, but the idea of distributed messaging among multiple different hosts led me to experiment with a lot of different federated/distributed protocols and networks.
