display images inline without needing to click on the image link?

This is possible, sort of. If you enable the option "Preferences > Behavior > Load next image on scroll key", the next image is automatically loaded when you press the down arrow or spacebar (desktop only).

How can I install colored emojis?

Sorry, colored (i.e., bitmap) fonts are not supported. Lagrange uses a custom text renderer, the same one on all platforms, and it only works with black-and-white vector fonts. Incorporating more advanced or native text rendering is a large task, but it would be worthwhile to tackle at some point. I agree monochrome flag symbols don't really cut it.

Thank you very much for your (as always) prompt response.

Would you consider this for a future version? As an optional feature, of course :-)

Thanks for the information about the font. :-)

I can imagine a context menu action where you can initiate downloading of all image links on the page, perhaps with a delay between the fetches for links going to the same domain, so the server is not overloaded. I would consider this a low priority feature, though.

Thanks! That sounds good for me πŸ™

It seems like server operators have multiple tools at hand for preventing overload. For instance, they could use rate limiting and return the 44 status code, which is probably the right answer, long-term. But as a stopgap, they have the power to control how many images are linked to in a document.

Given that the workload of a gemini server is tiny and the network usage also quite small, it's only the edge cases where this is even a factor, like serving from a microcontroller or over LoRa. And those operators know who they are.

More doubts: Is there a way to configure the client to display images inline without needing to click on the image link? How can I install colored emojis? The font that comes with the client gives me problems, especially with flags, etc. I've tried installing a TTF font but idk how can i change. Thank you very much!
