Astral Peaks Insights
I just completed the preliminary edit of AP_045_20260506, that is the working
filename of the 45th Astral Peaks episode to air on May 6th. Yes, I pre-record AP
episodes. Sure, there is the glamor of "Live" radio production. My personal time
management system coupled with my halting ... stuttering ... extemporaneous speaking
style does not afford me that glamor.

1) Curation: Once the tracks have been selected on their individual merits they have
to be order so that they "play nice" with each other.
2) Notes: Playlist Notes combine the Script Outline with the selected tracks in
order. The Playlist is a published (FPRTF.NET) mini-b|flog. While listing the episode's tracks in order of play, the associated URL links often lead to interesting side notes about the artist or group.
3) Scripting: Using the Notes as a framework, writing the actual introductions for
the tracks as well as the usual announcements, 'Playlist, Affiliate Stations, etc.)
4) Publishing: posting the .HTML and .gmi versions of the Playlist to the respective
servers.
Now, 5 hours per episode might seem easy on the face of it but every week for the
past 45 weeks has given me a healthy insight into personal goals and objectives.
Time Management, scheduling milestones, becomes both routine and necessary. Knowing
that the schedule rolls on inexerably, it is a very real burden to be behind
the m'stone.
