Man with a Movie Camera (1929) has a link to Syndicate Wars
Dziga Vertov released this silent movie in 1929, and The Alloy Orchestra greatly enhanced it in 1995 with a soundtrack, which is used on the Lobster Films restoration of 2015 (released on Blu Ray).
In a film full of interesting things made more interesting by age, the most interesting thing is at timecode 1:03:44 where the music features the same electronic motif that opens the Syndicate Wars soundtrack from 1996 (pitch shifted).
I asked the composer who worked at Bullfrog at the time if he had intentionally sampled the movie soundtrack, and he said he had not. Perhaps there is a common ancestor in a 90s-era synthesiser.
3/5 - worth watching once for the sheer spectacle of everyday life in antiquity.
Anyway, move along. Keep moving.
