As for the http matter, after a quick investigation I found out that posting on the Midnight Pub board requires authentication tokens, which Gemini doesn't handle easily, hence resorting to http.
Man, this coffee is delicious, warms my old bones up!

Deep down in the trenches, excuse me, in "The Manual", there is a script. Search for "Post using your terminal". Its a bit of shell around curl incantations.
And I once knew, how to snatch that access token from firefox. ~uirapuru told me. And where to put it. Probably ~/.config/.midnight ... But as I said, I have never been successful. Others have, so maybe someone can chime in.
