Really like what you said about songs that you have bad associations with. For me, I associate the song Shut Up and Dance by Walk The Moon with my ex and now I almost can't listen to it.
On a more happy and strange note, I associate the smartphone game Flappy Golf with the show Brooklyn Nine Nine because of the amount of time that I spent both watching the show and playing the game. Does anyone else have associations like that?

It makes perfect sense that we draw and create associations outside of music, and that one might only affect us more emotionally by degrees of separation. Like youâd said, a mobile game that leads to something, that might lead to something else, and so on until you arrive at whatever is the âsourceâ. Of course the source is actually the experience(s) we tie to these songs, films, shows, games, etc..
Anyways, I like that. Brooklyn Nine Nine always reminds me of Christmas Eve (2018) and spending the entire day on my friends couch, licking our wounds from the previous nightâs debauchery. Aside from feeling like my body had been hit by a bus, itâs a positive memory. So thatâs my Brooklyn Nine Nine story, I guess.
