Electronic music and city skylines
Hopefully, I'm not the only one that thinks this; if I am though, it's not like I care.
On the way into work this morning, it was cloudier than usual, and I was listening to a semi decent drum and bass mix from 1996-1998. Needless to say, it brought back a wave of memories and nostalgia. As a kid, we used to drive around town listening to various music (usually hip hop and NIN), smoking weed, and sometimes taking shots of shitty liquor with a 2 liter of whatever soda was available as a chaser. Kids are dumb, what can I say?
Once I got my license and started driving, I used to love to drive to D.C. or Baltimore. Also, my ride, my music. I'd play some kind of electronic music for everyone's enjoyment - gabber techno, drump and bass, prodigy, chemical brothers, etc. Of course smoking would be involved. Something about the mixture of skylines, music, and weed just set the stage for maximum enjoyment. The best thing about being youthful is you don't even think about consequences or tomorrow, for that matter. We absolutely didn't care that there were *potentially* illegal drugs in the car, *potentially* open containers of liquor. Our attitude was "fuck you".
Anyways, this morning I managed to snap a picture of Austin's skyline and it's definitely not professional by any means.
