wimg - Write disk IMaGes to disks
I had a random bout of insanity and decided to write a replacement for `dd`, specifically for writing disk images to disks.
It started out as an command alias, but I wanted it to be more flexible, so I wrote a Zsh script. However, this script didn't quite make the cut, for reasons I cannot remember whatsoever. In my infinite wisdom, I decided to write it in a language I have never used before: Perl.
Halfway through writing, I realised I had no idea why I wanted to make my own disk image writer anymore, but I was having too much fun coding it and learning Perl at the same time, so I just kept going.
Unlike `dd`, it doesn't support going the other way, and the features are limited. There is really no reason you should use this unless (for some reason) you're particularly dissatisfied with `dd` and don't want to use `cp` or GNOME Disks or whatever.
Install
Do not install this. It doesn't work (yet).
