Looking for an idea: we have several public forest areas with beautiful paths not far away, on the outskirts of Berlin. Does anyone know of small monitoring or mapping projects that would be suitable for occasional walks? It could also be something that I set up on my own for now. And is manageable. Inspiration?

definitely interesting ideas!! about Berlin: with a bit of luck you can find a niche here where you can live well. As a non-native Berliner, the Alps are mostly missed.... · 1 year ago

As a half_elf, walks through the forest are my JAM · 1 year ago
A walk in the forest sounds lovely! Forgive my ignorance though...what do you mean by a monitoring/mapping project? Depending on the age of the child... have them make a map, on paper, of the route. Count the number of fir/birch/oak trees, or squirrels-per-hour, or (in the springtime) the names and quantities of flowers that bloom within sight of the path measured over time. Or if the kids are younger, pretend that pixie pirates have stolen the queen's enchanted hair-clip, and that they're on a quest to find+return it (when you surreptitiously drop it at the end of the walk) by answering the pixie pirate king's many riddles which you relate along the walk. · 1 year ago
don't be offended, but i would teach my children to move away from berlin as far as they could ;) never seen such a shithole in germany except Frankfurt central station maybe... · 1 year ago
And ideally something that you can teach children something about. · 1 year ago
