enumerative/statement or vs choice/question or

或者/还是

I know the difference, but I keep making the mistake of using 或者 (huòzhě) in questions when I should be using 还是(háishì).

或者 is the enumerative or, used when listing items in a statement.

还是 is the … inquisitive? interrogative? or, used when listing choices in a question.
