The Man From ICE
The day Renee Good was murdered in Minneapolis, I wrote a song. Just three tracks in GarageBand: guitar, drums and vocals. I shared it with my bandmate but didn't hear back. "Maybe that was too much...or maybe not enough," I thought.
Yesterday, after Alex Pretti was murdered, my friend was inspired to finish it. In one day, he added 15 additional tracks and extended the bridge. He also recorded the monologue at the end. He sent me the mix and needless to say, I'm extremely pleased with the result.
Edit: The song has gone through three or four changes since I originally posted. There could be more because that's just how I roll.
Your friends all got pardons
And you got this job
You're the new standard issue
For the organized mob
Now you're stalking the streets
With your gun and your mask
Spreading the violence
From your violent past
But karma will find you
Karma always slays
When you meet the devil
The devil will say
He'll say, Nice!
It's that man from ICE
Jesus H. Christ!
It's another man from ICE!
You have your supporters
You can find them online
They're stupid and cruel
But like minds align
You know you're protected
By villains and crooks
It's the same old story
From the history books
But karma will find you
Karma always slays
When you meet the devil
The devil will say
He'll say, Nice!
It's that man from ICE
Jesus H. Christ!
It's another man from ICE!
