Spam in Geminispace? — For those people who run a service in Geminispace where users can submit content, did you receive any spam or other abuse? If you want, you can add details in the comments. I'm aware that not many people are able to answer, but maybe you can point those people to this poll, if you like to. Thanks.

I've heard some clocks have an option for it, but how come we usually use 00:00 on the 24 hour clock instead of 24:00 at the end of the day? I can see that that might give the impression it's still the previous calendar day instead of a new one, but I still wonder.

wget, but gemini:// — I wonder if there's a tool that would download a capsule, or at least a subtree, like wget would do a website over HTTP, but for Gemini? I'm not creating a crawler farm, but I usually online for a very brief period of time and then go offline for the rest of the day. At this point I just manually open a lot of tabs in Amfora, mostly from Antenna and BBSes, but maybe there's a somewhat easier way? On a second thought, I kinda wish such thing doesn't exist, because I really...

It seems that CJK (Chinese-Japanese-Korean) posts are effectively limited to about 100 characters due to limit of 1024 bytes for URIs in Gemini (each character is 9 bytes after encoding). Has there been discussion on this matter? It constrains CJK posts to about 100 characters: a sentence or two.

Gemini capsule over IPv6 only: good idea or not? — I'm hosting a capsule that's available on the same domain name that can resolve both into IPv4 and IPv6 address. Not that I hate IPv4 or anything, but I was thinking: what if it's only available via IPv6? I hear some Gemini clients have issues with IPv6 specifically, but most of the time it's about older versions, and more recent versions seem alright. Has anyone considered and chosen to go or not go with IPv6-only setup? Pros/cons? For context:...

Quickest way to share a single document over gemini? Something like pastebin, or free basic (static) hosting. I have a small text document (<100kb) that I'd like to make available over gemini. would it be possible to post the entire thing in a thread on this bbs?

What's a good browser for Gopher (preferably one that can work on android too)? I've been using Lagrange to look at gopher holes and gemini capsules since I'd like to be able to view both crossplatform in one application, but I wonder if there's something that's just specifically better for Gopher, unless Lagrange is good enough for that too.

Do you browse the Geminispace with a GUI, TUI, or CLI client? — CLI = run in terminal with parameters to load a single page and immediately and automatically exit upon output, TUI = run in terminal once to load and navigate many pages in succession

Alternative Proxy for Gemini? — Hi gemifriends, Stargate from Gemi.dev (Acidous) is down. Do you know any alternative to proxy Gemini to HTTP? Thanks... 🙏

So is there any downside to re-using the same certificuite on multiple sites? In theory would it allow two severs communicating to realize that i am the same user and thus track me? Lagrange makes it very easy to use the same certifucute and i feel like making new ones for every site would be a little cluttered. If i should be using a diferent one on each, wouldn't it be best if lagrange made the process less manual?

4 ppl who code gemini servers or clients — what programming languages do you code in for ur server/client? i made a server so far in node, and another in lua (i am also making a barebones client in lua) (also this is my first time posting in bbs in general, so sry if i broke one or two post quality rules)

Gemini over LoRa stupid? — Anyone thought of trying to make Gemini work over LoRa? meshtastic, meshcore, reticulum, etc?

Gemini Demographics? Has anybody done any sort of research on who's using Gemini? As in age, gender, language and so on. I have content that might be interesting to younger generations, but I'm afraid nobody of that age range is going to visit my capsule. (In other words, what's the point to write a gamebook for gemini?) I believe others will be asking themselves similar questions..

Cloudflare Tunnels — I know very little about public-facing networking, but I came across Cloudflare tunnels as a way to expose services without compromising my home network. Is anyone using these for Gemini?

My idea for a tiny computer using a 8x40 character display — I wish to have a simple SBC (like a Raspberry Pi Zero) with a 8x40 characters display as stdout to work as a terminal. So it could be powered with batteries, hopefully, and/or solar power. Can it be accomplished? That's my bogus idea. Such device should be able to ssh, rsync and do basic gemini/gopher browsing, edit text files, math and that sort of thing.

I have been travelling with spotty Internet today and I got the idea that you might want to download a whole site for offline viewing. What archiving format would be good for downloading a whole site? My personal choice would be ARJ since there is a open source version, it doesn't require much in computing power and it can split archives into volumes. (nostalgia) Another feature that would be good would be to be able to pluck files from the archive without unpacking the whole archive, I think...

Apache+PHP equivalent for Gemini? — Is there any Gemini server software that allows for serving pages, but also allows for server-side scripting? I'm looking for whatever the equivalent to PHP might be in Gemini. I'd rather like to avoid having to modify the web server code itself.

Ideas for my December Adventure? last year, I started a little challenge, where I focus some time every day on the issue tracker of a well known Linux distribution. I called it the "December Adventure" and it was great fun. My "log" can be read here: [gemini link] I will do something similar this year in December. Any ideas?

Do we have something like curl but for Gemini? — I want a tool to download gemini pages like we use curl for downloading HTML pages. I am pretty sure there is a tool like this but I don't remeber what's the name of the tool.

Imageboard — I have a fool question for those that understand the protocol better: Would be possible to implement an Imageboard over Gemini, like 4chan?

Does anyone else treat this bbs as Lemmy or Reddit alternative? — I certainly do. I love to read this bbs in 2-3 days, It's not even as active as Lemmy which isn't as active as Reddit but still I like it. I like that whatever I write here *will* be read by someone. I always get useful and informative replies from others :D
