Does anyone here know a good synth (digital or physical) specifically for things like gabber, (early) terrorcore, (early) hardcore and speedcore? Think less things like Angerfist and more like Rob Gee, KCMA & T-Plus, Speedfolter, and especially The Destroyer, if you've heard of any of them. I'm using REAPER currently but also planning on learning how to use a tracker like the Protracker 2.3d clone, any suggestions for a (free or relatively cheap) DAW that might be better for this than reaper is good too. Currently using Surge XT, CHOW Build Your Own Distortion and Surge Effects and sample editing for my sounds.

If you want to go the tracker route, Renoise is an option.

@MrSVCD I've heard of Renoise. Does it work well on linux?

@The_Jackal Renoise has a demo version where you can test if it works for you.

Last time I tried it worked well for me.

@MrSCVD Thank you for the recommendation. I'm going to try learning Reaper and protracker 2 for now (or just load samples into it and export them as .wav for the sound) but I will check out Renoise after gaining some experience using Reaper, as it does seem like a good DAW.
