Tvangeste — After a bit more than two decades I've (re-)discovered Tvangeste, a melodic death metal band from Königsberg and from my youth. I still remember finding Mike Chirva on ICQ and chatting with him. We had a few years of difference, and I, being a clueless teenage schoolkid, thought that I'm talking to a legend. In my memory, both Mike and Natu are still legends. I remember he shared his plans to move to Canada, and I asked what's gonna happen to the music. I do not remember the answer.…

9VeilMaid - Bitter Snowflakes — A song about Snowflakes that taste really bitter and cold, and I wanted to make the cover a photo collage too, because why not.

New old music — Last week, I re-recorded this old song of mine (written between 2011 and 2013) for a friend of mine, who was part of the band at the time. I am not that good with song titles, so back then all of our songs were simply labeled as "Song 1", "Song 2", "Song 3"... This one was "Song 4", and still I have not decided a title for it. The song was recorded in Ardour 8.4.0 from Trisquel GNU/Linux-libre, with…

ESC — Anyone cares for the Eurovision Song Contest? I find it a useful source of new (and old, hat tip to Italy) artists and performers, although the genre is narrow-range and thus something I enjoy occasionally, not always. I mean, Käärijä, amirite

9VeilMaid - Fighting For Hope — Sorry if this song doesn't sound action-y and more ambient. I hope you all enjoy non the less, I'm thinking of making some post-punk inspired songs and maybe more expiremental music. Made this song using GarageBand on my iPad

Does what you know about a song affect how you perceive it?

I'm looking at starting a CD/tape/physical artifact trading community among people making weird original music - my band's doing custom mix CDs of your choice of songs for $15 or a swap - billycheeseband.com/contact

Can Sytrus be used at all in linux without having to use some trickery to set up all of FLStudio, or at least be able use some old version of Sytrus? Searching for it is worthless because it brings up nothing remotely related to using it on linux except one 11 year old YouTube video that just shows it being used on linux.

— Konpeito - Lo-Fi Hip hop and downtempo
Konpeito — Plugging this to the top as many new folks may not be aware of Konpeito. Thanks to thebackupbox.net for making a backup. Great music for the end of the work week (for me at least)

Does anyone here know a good synth (digital or physical) specifically for things like gabber, (early) terrorcore, (early) hardcore and speedcore? Think less things like Angerfist and more like Rob Gee, KCMA & T-Plus, Speedfolter, and especially The Destroyer, if you've heard of any of them. I'm using REAPER currently but also planning on learning how to use a tracker like the Protracker 2.3d clone, any suggestions for a (free or relatively cheap) DAW that might be better for this than reaper is...

Trying to find a sample. I was listening to a terrorcore track and there was a sample where what sounded like a teenage girl (she sounded like Jamie-Lynn Sigler to me, sort of) worriedly instructing a boy, saying something along the lines of 'If anyone comes up here, you shoot them, Toby, just like in your video games. You shoot them in the head.' to which he responds 'What if it's Dad?' and she then says 'ESPECIALLY if it's your Dad.' Does anyone know what this might be from? I can't remember...

What is your personal opinion on Radiohead's Kid A?

Rhubarb is my favorite Apex Twin song tbh. And I can't really think of a favorite song from the Beatles, since a lot of them are pretty good, I mostly like their later albums songs.

Listening to the radio and Touch of Grey by the Grateful Dead came on. For some strange reason my first thought went back to being a kid in the 80's and getting the single on this flexible paper record that came in the sunday paper. Does anyone else remember the flexi-disc?

SunVox — is a virtual modular synthesizer, with a tracker-style pattern grid for input sequencing, and a 2D grid for pattern arrangement. (So, patterns of different lengths with different numbers of tracks can play concurrently while having started at different times.) Connect modules within the pane on the right, adjust a selected module's parameters on the left, create/arrange patterns and edit their properties on the...
