I had a bright faded spot appear on my little CRT TV. I found a post that said to try laying the TV on its side in both direction and turning it on and off a few times and... IT WORKED! 🤯 The glowing purple spot is gone! Does anyone know why?
Also the screen went CRAZY purple when it was on it's side. I hope what wasn't bad for the TV. 👀

All of the purple stuff inside poured out.
You usually need to degauss (demagnetize) your display with a big electromagnet when discolorations appear.
Sometimes gravity will move the deflection coils around the CRT enough to fix the immediate problem, but I suspect it will come back, for the same reason of gravity. Hopefully it will take a while.
