You usually need to degauss (demagnetize) your display with a big electromagnet when discolorations appear.

Sometimes gravity will move the deflection coils around the CRT enough to fix the immediate problem, but I suspect it will come back, for the same reason of gravity. Hopefully it will take a while.

IT WORKED! 🤯 The glowing purple spot is gone! Does anyone know why? Also the screen went CRAZY purple when it was on it's side. I hope what wasn't bad for the TV. 👀
