artifice /Γ€rβ²tΙ-fΔs/
noun
1. Deception or trickery.
2. Something contrived or made up to achieve an end, especially by deceiving; a stratagem or ruse: synonym: wile.
Perhaps the most important aspect of so-called artificial intelligence worth looking at is the end game. This looks to be an all or nothing endeavor. Either this tool makes it viable for us to discover real means of renewable resources and virtually free energy or it takes us all out by wasting remaining resources in this pursuit. I don't think we can put the genie back in the bottle. This is a beast with insatiable hunger in terms of resources required to keep it running. It will consume everything without remorse.
The conversation about the AI bubble is limited to the scope of the modern state of economics. Why is it important to acknowledge this? Because it is within the realm of possibility that this could fundamentally change economics to the point where the negative gearing required to achieve the ultimate goals is moot. Imagine getting a loan for a trillion dollars and if you spend it correctly you don't have to pay back the loan. Such a great debt is worth it only if you succeed. If you fail, it's over.
If you're having trouble picking up on whether I am for or against this pursuit, it's because what I am putting forth is that the process of developing AI is a gambit. I'm using words like "we" and "us'" because I believe that all of humanity has a stake in this. We didn't ask for it, but this is the position we are all in now. It will either allow to thrive without worrying about our basic needs or it will destroy us all. One way or another, AI will solve our problems.
For anyone who doesn't genuinely advocate for the end of humanity, we are left with little option but to support and hope for the success of this endeavor. You've heard of too big to fail. This is likely the biggest there has ever been. What happens if the bubble is allowed to burst and it all grinds to a halt? Without it, will we be able to find solutions to other existential threats before it is too late? This question is not meant to be rhetorical. We need to be seriously asking if this is our best chance to make it. If it really is then success is the only option. If that is really the case, we should be ready to run on hamster wheels to keep it running until we get there. Not a scenario I am particularly fond of, but what choice to we have?
With that in mind, we really need to emphasize putting these resources to good use. Because there is a lot of bullshit out there right now. I can only hope that the crippled LLM's and AI slop being churned out for clickbait serve to improve the technology and bring us closer to the end goal. Then there's also the matter of the motives of what some consider to be technocrats behind these innovations. If the big brain AI and robot army only serve to benefit a few, the rest of us are in a position in which there is no winning scenario.
I'm not saying the following as a threat, but merely my expectation of what will follow if people start to feel that these innovations are not going to benefit them. We would looking at a near future where data centers and power grids are directly attacked. I believe it is in the best interest of those technocrats to calibrate their goals to be in the best interest of everyone. Again, it is all or nothing. We all win or we all lose. We all need to choose to win. We need to understand the gravity of this decision and the sacrifices that we may need to make to get across the finish line.
That's why, as someone who understands and is ready to make those sacrifices for us all, I am running to become the last president of the United States. Because when I success, we won't need anymore presidents. We're not going to let the bubble burst. We're going to inflate that bubble and we're going to inflate that bubble more. We're going to keep inflating that bubble until it's as big as the Earth itself. Then we're going to inflate it more. We're going to blow it up until it's as big as the universe. We're not going to stop there. We going quantum.
Don't fear the bubble. Embrace it. I'm Matryoshka and I approve this message.

Modern tech megacompanies seem to have a need for a single-word idea to throw hundreds of billions at. Consider that a handful of years ago, VR or 'metaverse' or whatever was the thing -- if you were not in, you were done! I was laughing so hard, envisioning office buildings full of employees in business attire with goggles on running around while their goggled bosses swung virtual golf clubs in offices with fabulous views. Hah.
This technology at least has some teeth -- the elimination of that tech support guy in Bangladesh who tells you 'please unplug your router and wait two minutes'. Some meaningless jobs will be lost, and a lot of clip art and pop music will get really weird.

Nooooo the metaverse is the future. Googles made money and goggles are the same thing! I have more money than brains!

I am withdrawing my candidacy for the 2028 presidential election. The current administration beat me to it. The bubble will not be bursting.
