If you run AMD or Intel graphics, the graphics drivers should not be a problem.

I'm on iMac 2011, it's old 512Mb AMD cart. At least Half-Life 2 on Source engine works well.

AMDs driver is in the Linux kernel. I think it is about 50% of the kernel.
