New to Gemini, and I'm liking what I see. Like a new school return to old school internet. Still learning the ropes, so bear with me!

That's also my impression of it. I've been here since 2021 and really enjoy it. Welcome!

Hello there
๐ RetroPunk64 [OP] ยท Jan 28 at 18:26:
Thanks y'all! I'm sans home internet at the moment, but once I get that sorted, I'm going to look into setting up my own web page. So stay tuned!

I am not sure what home internet has to do with it. Most people here use tilde servers to keep their gemlogs (they don't call them web pages here). Others rent inexpensive Virtual Private Servers (VPSs) -- I pay 4 bucks a month for one.
Serving from home is something very few people do, because you have to be a security expert to avoid disaster. I don't do it because I don't have the knowlege and the discipline/attention span to keep adequate security.
That has nothing to do with Gemini -- opening a port to the Internet is just a dangerous activity.

@stack Well regardless of how its done, its kind of hard to set up something like that from a mobile browser. Much easier to do that kind of power usage on an actual computer.

I see. I too prefer to type on a keyboard.
