TTRPG Rules are Technical Writing — I read a lot of tabletop RPGs, and I read a lot of computer books, and both types take me much more time to read than fiction, which I can read very quickly. What I've observed is that for RPG books and computer books take me more effort to understand — I have to think about it more to understand them. Fiction, on the other hand, rarely requires me to think much before I understand what is happening.
