Y'ello!

I'm Dawn!

I've been dabbling in the gemspace for a while now. I was using Geminaut, but it's certificate thing wasn't working here, so I just switched (like... 3 minutes ago) to Lagrange.

I was not there to see the early web, but I have seen the open web bloat up spectacularly. It's encouraged me to check out alternatives, which I have greatly enjoyed exploring (so much so that I've begun using IRC more than I have other social platforms).

I recently found this place while browsing through feeds of gemlogs, and I had never seen anything like it!

Uh... I don't really have much else to say besides that.

to get started with gemini space.

glad you're enjoying irc. it is a very cool minimalistic protocol, i even wrote my own irc bot in oberon, and implemented irc protocol from scratch.

have you heard of xmpp? it is a community governed decentralized protocol, i. e users from different servers may communicane with each other.

xmpp also has publishing. it is possible to publish, subscribe, comment via xmpp. there's a platform called rivista that lets you build the website and gemini capsule ad publishes whatever you post there also on xmpp.

I dabbled in XMPP for a tad (still have the app), but I hadn't found anything really amusing on it, so I lost interest in searching.
