Re: "OMG, finally Haiku DE can run on Linux! [https link]"
I wonder how the whole experience will be. Love it or hate it, Haiku is a single user OS and you don't have to keep entering your password for every tiny change. Puppy Linux is the only Linux I know that's like that.

@darkghost I've heard of puppy linux. Is it any good as a daily driver on anything other than older or lower spec machines?

Sounds like an interesting project. I'll have to spin up a VM.

@darkghost, after years on Linux, I definitely feel uncomfortable without a multi-user environment, especially without root. I pretty much like Haiku, but itβs an OS that comes with VPN support yet lacks a firewall. As a Yggdrasil user, I have to run a separate router with Linux for security purposes.

It definitely dates back to the days of single user everybody is root no firewall but no services.

Once I can simply install this desktop environment, I will immediately drop GNOME - I hate it after years of its UI experiments on me, including other alternatives leading by smartphone-addicted kids.
