FGS just found out the Internet Archive is age restricted in the UK. Given how just about every government seems to be going down a dark path at the moment, does anyone know a Guillotine manufacturer I can buy shares in? Think there might be a bull run on them soon.

I'm in the UK, and I'm not seeing any age restriction. There are constant scares about it, but my experience is that very little is age restricted other than porn.

@lars_the_bear it was at ISP/Network level (The SMARTY mobile network - unsure of the situation with 3 themselves). I was redirected to a page explaining how they don't validate your age when joining the network blah, blah, blah. So I assume it's at DNS level as with standard content category filtering. I even double checked I hadn't managed to mistype archive.org
I did a search when it happened and there are reports of numerous providers doing this currently for the Internet Archive specifically. What ISP/Mobile network were you on when checking if you don't mind me asking?

ISPs need to stay out of getting between you and your requested content.

drh3xx : I'm using TalkTalk at home, and I also tried my phone on Vodafone. Neither was a problem. I'm not denying for a moment that it's happening but, so far, it isn't happening to me. Yet...
I didn't know ISP's are joining in on this lose lose game they're joining too, as if I don't dislike ISP's enough

Change your DNS. My ISPs servers filter in all sorts of strange ways.
