@darkghost To your point, I think this is the type of wake up call that the right needs. The problem I forsee happening is they seem to have short memories due to their constant need to be in rage mode.
The left knows a lot of their candidates are shit. You expect to have crappy people seeking power when there are positions open that have power. But there are also a lot of good left candidates who do the two things you need: Push for better policies and ACTUALLY CALL OUT THE BS OF THEIR PARTY.
I have not seen a single example of a right politician that does this. They either drank the KoolAid or they are hiding to not make waves. I just can't get behind that.

@jecxjo I think you're right. There's also a hierarchical type of thinking that many conservatives employ. So if the leaders tell them to drop it, they drop it. It isn't their place. This is already happening with right wing pundits saying they're not going to talk about it anymore. Years and years of beating the drum and they let it go like that. I doubt the whole movement will let it go, but some will, because they were told to.
The Right calls out their party... for not being ideologically pure enough. I can imagine people like Eisenhower, Nixon, or Reagan would be considered RINOs in today's Republican party.

Does hair sniffing count?
How long do you will it be before everyone forgets all about the list? I give it 3 weeks tops.
👾 jecxjo · 2025-07-19 at 19:33:
@stack Honestly I think it sticks around as long as the major networks and some of the bigger names in "independent media" on the right keep it around. And all that depends on how much Trump and his team pays off or strong arms them all.
At the moment Trump is just insulting everyone who keeps asking questions. Nothing new, except now the insults are directed at his base. If he turns on any his cabinet they could easily leak the info and then all hell breaks lose.
👻 darkghost · 2025-07-19 at 22:27:
Right. They've been beating this drum for years. It all ties into QAnon which has been a thing for 8 years. People are fickle but I don't think they're that fickle.
I'm sure some are keeping the story alive because they want to see which Democrats (and Democrats only) are on the list.
But once again, Trump hires the worst people, so they teased at the salacious details, and then poof. What list? I do think the WSJ story has calmed some of the uproar on the right. For now. But this will linger and continue to come up. Many sacrificed family and friends for QAnon. They're not going to quickly admit a mistake having sunk so much into it.

Honestly I wonder when a fake Q shows up to egg them on. If some moderately intelligent people on the left took on the role they could easily control a good portion of the loudest sections of MAGA.

It also doesn't help that Trump even denies that he's friends with Epstein in the first place. Which I call horseapples on.
👻 darkghost · 2025-07-25 at 10:40:
He has done so much to keep it in the news cycle. Hiring all those incompetent sycophants was probably a bad idea.

I'm very concerned with the recent developments that maxwell is their newest (and likely most effective) atempt to escape culpability. She'll throw out the names of some democrats involved (she wouldn't need to make any up) while exonerating trump and his cronies. And the MAGA propaganda engine is at full steam again, his base is already prepared to eat it up.
👻 darkghost · 2025-07-26 at 19:15:
I hope you're wrong. The things I hear from these folks, they're extremely jaded about the whole thing and exchanging dirt on only Democrats for a pardon would make them more furious. It would all but be confirmation that he is guilty as hell. Would it cause them to abandon him? Probably not. Would it stall the movement? Probably yes. The Republican majority will be holding House and Senate minute long sessions every 5 days during the summer recess to prevent recess appointments. A tactic more commonly employed against Obama and Biden by Republican majorities.

Prior to the first victory, T said that he could kill someone in times square and still win the election. Sad but true.
But I don't think he was best friends with E. He had some Italian dude get wives for him
👾 jecxjo · 2025-07-30 at 16:08:
idk, looking at the number of interactions and the type of contact they had it makes me believe they were "best friends." I put the quotes because I also don't think T really had any actual friends. They would all cut each other's throat to save themselves but thieves hang out with other thieves because who else knows that life.

In this social circle, it's a system of using. Your friends are your friends as long as they're useful to you. What made Epstein useful to Trump? What made Trump useful to Epstein?

I'm still frustrated that 45 keeps denying that he's assosiated with Eptein, and now Tech corporations claiming to "protect the kids" but I honestly believe that governments are all guilty for letting scummy people work with them or even associate with them.
🚀 stack · 2025-08-01 at 20:38:
Governments _are_ places where scummy people get together to make it easier to do scummy things. A government is basically a scumbag union.
They will throw some money for public works and schools and such, but mostly it's about enriching themselves and pedophilia.

The Epstein thing might be big -- I was visiting my hardcore MAGA parents this weekend and was actualy kind of surprised to hear them speaking very spitefully of Trump. At first i had kind of figured the whole oredeal would be watter under the bridge within a week, but most of his base seems genuinely furious. It helps a lot that they are uterly incompentent in their handling of the coverup. I'm wondering what others' read on the situation is.
