how do you handle the mouse? on the chair itself? or do you hold some sort of plank to hold kb+mouse?

@jmcs, I am very narrow, and the chair is very wide! the mouse is next to me, and the cloth provides a good surface for it.
The keyboard sits right on my lap. it's a Das with USB ports, the mouse is plugged into it.
I use Vim, and rarely need the mouse unless I'm screwing around.

A trackball would probably be good for a setup like this, though I know they can be more expensive than a regular mouse. I use a trackball when using my laptop on a bed (due to limited space for furniture in my bedroom) and I appreciate that I can just set it on any surface with any amount of room and it's fine.
