Well, let my gemlog mirror be first :)

Also btw created this wiki about the Nexy server setup, which includes Yggdrasil configuration:

@jsreed5 my choice is the Nex protocol, as it is simple. There are no problems with mirroring gemtext notes and no additional steps with TLS integration. Yggdrasil connection is always encrypted.

I set up Yggdrasil on my computer for the first time yesterday. I *might* set it up for my server, we'll see.

@clseibold you can also run your capsule directly from the computer over NAT. There is no server with a dedicated IP required; only uptime reasons. I'm running my capsule on a router.

@ps My capsule is already running from a home network over NAT. That's why I use dynamic dns.

I don't have a router that I can modify or run custom software on like that. I can obviously port forward though.

@clseibold, what is useful in Yggdrasil is that it provides a permanent static IPv6 address based on the private key. Unlike the internet, there is no need for dynamic DNS.

There is also a decentralized Alfis DNS that supports Yggdrasil out of the box and allows you to register a domain for free on the blockchain. Here is my note about it, but personally, I prefer a direct IP connection:

Finally, I have registered the Alfis DNS domain for one year:
