Long post option in BBS comments.

This could be useful. I'm always counting the bytes when I write a reply; plus, post editing always takes a few bytes for the post ID. The 'GET' request is definitely not useful for messages. I really miss the Titan option, especially for Cyrillic characters, which require more 'special character' encoding length.

I dream of creating a forum engine one day, where I would make Titan input the default for messaging. But what about this platform? Are long messages not welcome here?

I noticed the length limit again, so I’m continuing my thoughts in a separate message.

...The current extended editor is still hard to use - maybe I’m just not getting it. This is just my opinion. Also, the numerous action links aren't very user-friendly, though I understand the goal behind them. So why not to use Titan by default for all user input. In fact that's POST data, not GET request by the semantic.

P.S. Titan input in Lagrange has different implementation. In Yoda, I have another input entry which is perfect for both protocols and looks pretty similar, just contain additional tab for the attachment and has unlimited text length counter (which is useful for local board len rules)

Just opened last message to complicate with Gemini (GET), and... I give up - it takes few bytes again for the 'system' request, so old message could not be sent. Madness. Sorry for chain of messages, I'm here just experimenting, and present the issue.

Feel free to merge them together (click on the comment link).

So why not to use Titan by default for all user input.

Bubble is a Gemini bulletin board. It must be primarily and fully usable via Gemini, so any client is able to access it. Titan is only provided as a convenience, if one happens to be able to use it.

Long post option in BBS comments

Well, there isn't an _option_ for this per se, but you can easily submit a Titan comment by clicking on the Comment action, then entering a single colon character as the comment contents. It will forward you to a Titan upload URL for entering the long comment.

Long messages are very welcome here, but due to the limitations of Gemini you need to either:

I seem to remember you can also end your message with a backslash to keep going.

Yeah, the backslash gets you into the draft composer where you can then add/edit more text to the comment.

I think the way bbs gets around the character limit is pretty clever. I like that it lets me re-order paragraphs in the edit mode... I've done that more than once as I think through what I'm going to say.
