I prefer using I2P for capsule hosting because it includes built‑in DNS and provides native SNI compatibility out of the box. Instead of host capsule in Yggdrasil I use Yggdrasil to connect to I2P with 127.0.0.1:1965 tunnel. The Agate server handles it well, but it won’t handle “canonical” IPv6.
I would like to use gmid instead but lazy to setup. SNI issues make me dislike the Yggdrasil+Gemini combination (because of servers impl), so I’m considering switching to Yggdrasil+Nex or I2P+Gemini.
In other words, to make yggdrasil useful for the regular administrators, Gemini servers should provide user-friendly api, instead of this DNS-based hell.

These days I’ve published a related article about how do I sync my capsule across multiple networks - including the Internet (Yesterweb), I2P or Yggdrasil (in this case), and a Git upstream:

what's yggdrasil all about?

i think it would be great if we all, who selfhosts, would also host on yggdrasil. and i think we need to help our friends to host on yggdrasil. and help other people to have yggdrasil to be able to access whatever we host on yggdrasil.
