It depends on the theme settings. The "Colorful" themes use the domain name as a seed for randomly chosen color hues. The seed text can be manually overridden in the site-specific settings, but of course that just applies locally to you.

The icon is chosen randomly based on the seed text, too.

@skyjake : Thanks; I guessed it would be something like that. On one level, it would be nice if the capsule owner could hint to the client about how to render things like that; but I appreciate that isn't really in the spirit of Gemini.

I was wondering how background colour work in Lagrange. Each capsule I look at has a subtly different background colour. Also a different icon in the title bar. These things seem to be persistent, so I guess they aren't random. What's the magic?
