Rufus is an open source utility that tweaks the Windows 11 install to bypass certain checks so you can update Windows 10 machines that don't meet Microsoft's hardware requirements.

Autodesk user? Everyone I know getting bullied into the Windows 11 update seems to be.

Ha. Not me. I keep seeing stories about the security risks of running Windows 10 after the October deadline. I just tried updating the PC I built with my son in 2016. The update failed but thankfully rolled back without issue. Based on the reported error, it's possible I could do some things to make it work but I'm not sure I want to risk it a second time.

I don't go to jump to 11. when my things stop running in 10, I just go to delete my Win partition I'll use the Debian one alone.

Has anyone here done the Rufus Windows 10 to 11 upgrade in place? Did your installed programs continue to work? I have three machines that aren't eligible otherwise.
