Xfinity/Cockmast Bad!
It took me 45 minutes to pay my bill today.
I tried 3 different computers with various browsers, and finally did it on my phone with Chrome.
It takes minutes for pages to load at their pay system, and you have to disable uBlock and Privacy Badger and all that, even though the site loads tens of web bugs and tracking crap.
So it took more than 10 minutes each time, going through 2FA texts and delays just to find out that nope, this won't work.
I have to do this every month, because I don't trust them one bit with my credit card, so I don't save anything and have to enter it every time. I don't trust using a bank payment system because once they claimed I missed a payment that way and it took me months to straighten it out.
On top of that, they are constantly either rasing the rates or adding crap I didn't ask for. Right now they bundled a bunch of TV streaming services I already have (and theirs has ads which I don't want), and today I noticed that they added a mobile line for some reason, which I didn't ask for and don't want.
Needless to say, they have an AI chat which will run you in circles and go to an infinite delay if you ask for a human 10 times...
Now they will send me a bunch of texts thanking me for the payment, and try to get me to fill out a survey. I did that a few times saying that I've had the worst ever experience with them. Now I try to ignore it.
I think it's time to cancel and get a fiber connection for half of what these jokers charge.
Unfortunately my executive function has been suffering lately and I just can't get around to doing that, combined with a heavy travel schedule. And the actual Internet service is OK, so then I start thinking that it might be even worse with someone else.
But maybe this time I am going to do it.

Whatever you do, don't ever swap to Viashat. They objectively, and directly lied that we had a grace period, and we did not. We were forced to pay 300 or more dollars to get out after their nearly a hundred damned dollars a month 'high speed data plan' was about a 3mb download rate that dropped to literal dialup speeds or even around 10kb a second after that maybe 15gb of 'high speed data' was used. It even dropped to bytes a second sometimes. The worst internet company I have ever seen in my life, and I genuinely believe they must employ the same people doing scams in call centers.

I wonder if they all suck.

@stack Our current provider seems to be much better. The internet is provided by the power company and is bundled in with the electric bill. It isn't that bothersome handing over a check at their office. No app or website needed, thankfully.

@stack : they pretty much all suck. People are no longer willing to pay a bit more for a better service, so there's a mad rush to the bottom of the market.
I don't think that's anybody's fault: it's hard to judge quality of service, but it's easy to compare prices. I was bragging earlier about how my VPS only costs 83 cents a month, but that was before I had to contact their tech support. Now I know why it's so cheap.

Also: I'd never heard of "Cockmast" so I put it into a search engine. Oh, my. That's not a mistake I'll make again.
