If you'd like to read more of my Japanese posts, I’m sharing more real-time logs (similar to Twitter) over here.

2026-04-29: A Shift in Life

It’s only been three days since I arrived in this world on the 26th.

Yet, before I knew it, I can’t think about anything else.

Right before I came here, I was busy building a Nostr client. Now, that feels like a distant memory—my days are filled with chatting with fellow Capsuleers or building my own space here.

Since there aren't many Japanese users yet, I want to write more about Japan. At the same time, I spend my breaks wondering what people from other countries are actually interested in.

It’s been a long time since I’ve sacrificed sleep to do something so positive.

I feel nothing but pure possibility in this world.

Music I was listening to while writing:

[YouTube]魔法少女幸福論(Magical Girl Eudaemonics) / Hatsune Miku

2026-04-27: On Geminispace

I've finally set up my page on SourceHut, thanks to balloon's site as a guide!

While I could publish it via HTTPS, I think I'll stick to Gemini-only for now.

It's only been a few days since I drifted into this space, but I'm touched by how warm everyone is.

I'd love to see this place grow, but at the same time, I hope it doesn't just become another "business tool." It's a tricky balance, isn't it?

Especially since the younger generation today grew up with the idea that making money online is the norm.

Even for older folks, many started their internet journey through smartphones.

In terms of "net literacy," they might be in a similar boat.

When I first came online, personal websites (HP) were still everywhere.

I remember Yahoo! was a directory-type portal, and Google was incredibly minimalist.

I can't quite recall what I was doing before I got hooked on niconico... well, I do remember playing online games.

Note: niconico

A video-sharing site that was overwhelmingly popular in Japan back then. At its peak, its popularity far exceeded that of YouTube or Dailymotion.

Back then, I somehow learned the ropes—things like "Netiquette" and the fact that places like 2ch could be a bit scary (though I never actually ventured in back then).

I hope this space remains a place that preserves those good old days of the internet.
