Creating a new GPG key is simple. Run:

and follow the prompts. A modern GPG key usually has a primary key used for signing and certifying your identity, plus a separate encryption subkey used to encrypt data. For example, an Ed25519 primary key can handle signing, while a Curve25519 (cv25519) subkey handles encryption. Keep the private key safe and share only the public key.
